World Bank Launches Women's Fund Championed by Ivanka Trump

The World Bank on Thursday launched a new women’s entrepreneurship fund, conceived by Ivanka Trump, the U.S. president’s daughter and senior adviser, with the goal of providing over $1 billion in financing for entrepreneurs and small-business owners.

The Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative adopted a formal governing framework on Wednesday and said it would award $150 million in financing during its first round of proposals. The round begins immediately and closes on Dec. 15.
