Long term relationships aren’t all fun and games.
In their 11 years of marriage, Pink and husband Carey Hart have had their ups and downs, including several temporary separations, but that comes with the territory, the “What About Us” singer recently told The Guardian.
“There are moments where I look at (Hart) and he is the most thoughtful, logical, constant…he’s like a rock. He’s a good man. He’s a good dad. He’s just the kind of dad I thought he’d be and then some,” she said. “And there I’ll look at him and go: I’ve never liked you. There’s nothing I like about you. We have nothing in common. I don’t like any of the s-t you like. I don’t ever wanna see you again.”
The ebbs and flows of their relationship have taken a toll on other aspects of their marriage, namely their sex lives.
Pink, 38, admitted that she and Hart are known to experience long periods without sex, which in turn causes her and her hubby to question their attraction to one another.
“Then you’ll go through time when you haven’t had sex in a year,” she said. “Is this bed death? Is this the end of it? Do I want him? Does he want me?”
In spite of all this, the award winning musician told The Guardian that the extra effort needed to keep their marriage alive is worth it in the end.
“Monogamy is work! But you do the work and it’s good again,” Pink said.
The mother of two spoke equally candidly with Entertainment Tonight about her relationship with Hart, recalling some of their more dramatic fights. Pink told the outlet she often used to throw her wedding ring when they’d fight.
“I think I threw it in the pool once,” she said. “I was standing on top of a grotto saying to all of his friends, ‘I will never see you again, have a nice life!'”
Things have changed since then and they’re taking things one step at a time, she told ET.
“I’m hoping Carey asks me on a date soon because it’s been a while.”
Pink and Hart, 42, have been married since 2006. They separated for a period of time in 2008, but managed to reconcile.
